Privacy and your data

What Lingvoo handles during a call, what is never stored afterwards, and where to read the binding policy.

Translation happens in real time. Your meeting audio becomes translated speech and captions as it comes in, and nothing is recorded or kept once the call is over. No recording of your call is left on a server afterwards.

Audio from your meetings

  • Live audio is translated as it comes in and is not stored once the call ends: our meeting-bot provider works in zero-data-retention mode, and no recording of the meeting is kept.
  • Your meeting captions are saved in the account that ran the session. During the session, anyone with the listener link can read them; after it ends, only that account can, by opening the session’s listener link while logged in. Save the link: the app no longer shows it after the session ends, captions don’t appear next to meetings in your history, and the page will also say the live session has finished. To have captions deleted, write to support@lingvoo.com from the email address on your account.
  • All connections are encrypted in transit.

Your account and payment details

  • Your account details (name, email, and the settings you choose) are used to provide the service and to help you.
  • Our payment processor handles your card details. Card numbers never reach Lingvoo’s servers; we only get back the card type and its last four digits.
  • Device and usage data is processed to keep the service running, as the Privacy Policy describes.

What Google receives

  • To set up the audio connection, the listener page asks a Google STUN server (stun.l.google.com) for the public address your browser can be reached at, so Google sees your device’s IP address. No audio or captions go through it.

The translator is always visible

Lingvoo joins as a visible participant and shows up in the participant list, so no one is translated without the translator being openly present. Letting participants know what is running (and getting their consent where local rules call for it) is up to the meeting organizer; captions from the call are kept in the account that ran it.

Your rights

Our Privacy Policy is the binding document: it sets out what kinds of personal data we collect, who we share them with, how long we keep them, and your rights, including access, correction, deletion, and portability for users in the EU and the UK. How the service may be used is covered in the Terms of Use.

To use any of your privacy rights, or to find out what we hold about your account, write to support@lingvoo.com from the email address on your account.
